Did you know?

The European Rabbit is native to southwestern Europe and northwestern Africa.  Due to human introduction, it has also been established in many other parts of the world, such as Australia and parts of South America.

European Rabbits are social animals and often live in large colonies known as warrens. These warrens consist of interconnected underground burrows that provide shelter and protection from predators. Within a colony, rabbits establish a hierarchical social structure, and they communicate using a variety of vocalizations and body language.

European Rabbits are known for their rapid reproductive rates. They have a high fertility rate, with females capable of giving birth to multiple litters of kits (baby rabbits) throughout the year. Each litter can consist of several kittens, usually ranging from 3 to 8.
