In Full Bloom features a Rufous Hummingbird perched beside a cluster of pink rhododendron blossoms. I loved the way the little hummingbird seemed to lean toward the flowers, almost as if he were stopping to catch their fragrance before moving on. That small gesture gave the piece a simple sense of curiosity and charm that I wanted to highlight.
